No wind .....

Day four of Loius Vuitton - no wind (and no racing) again!

On the lighter side.... after severe cabin fever this morning, the kids and I took a bus into the old city and then a double decker bus on a tourist ride around Valencia. We stopped off for another play on the Gulliver playground, and jumped back on the bus an hour later. Weather heating up... we have gone from winter white to brown beach bums in 3 days. The sun is nowhere near as strong as it is in NZ.

The number of freckles on Hunter's face has doubled!

Shame about the freckles but I guess that's what you get with Rod's genetic soup. Great to catch up on your news. Tell fluff to fluff up some wind please, there's more excitment in watching the P class regatta on Wellington Harbour at the moment. I think it might be a Swiss conspiracy - they've probably got enough money to change the weather. One bonus I guess is that you have plently of time to write blogs which is a bonus for us mere mortals back here. Keep up the writing, more photos please Janene but try to stop getting that strange man with red hair in them, he must be following you around as he appears in quite a few shots.

Howdy Sharps,

Well the Andersons have finally found their first blog site and caught up on all the goings on of the Sharps!! Better late than never! You sure look as if you're having fun.

Zoe, what a fantastic photo you took of Mum, Dad & Hunter on top of the bell tower! If that was me, I think I would have missed everyone's heads.

Hunter, Henry would love to come and play on some of those cool playgrounds you've been on!

Janine, the 68ers are missing you, only Lana and I left!! Would you believe they are making us sit an umpiring exam before we try out for grade 2!! Even us oldies need to pass the test, surely we know enough already!

Just been to the Sounds for 10 days and had a ball. Beautiful weather, lots of skiing, kayaking and fishing. Skiing and kayaking great success but won't mention the fishing! We had heaps of fun anyway. Sent Wayne back for 3 days to earn some money so we could stay on holiday.

Anyway, can we call ourselves "bloggers" now? We really feel as if we're pretty high tech (or I do anyway), kids are way ahead of me.

Love to you all.

Will keep in touch,
Megs + lads.

Kia Ora amigos - what a great treat to see the NZ opening ceremony. We saw some of it on tele (we couldnt see you though) and it looked magical.
Rod, Dad saw your bro and Ian on tele (one of the nights/days when no wind turned up to play) and had quite a big spiel on them (too late for me)
Oh dear - we are a bit upset that the first day of racing was not quite the result we wanted - we need you to have a team talk to the boys and get them to work on their start!!! We really would like the kiwis to be sailing when we come to see you....otherwise I guess there is always shopping!!

"Hello Zoe and Hunter" say Emily and Isaac. "We went to Badjelly the Witch and it was really cool. She said Stinky Poo, Stinky Poo and called us knickers." We have also been over The Bay and had a lovely time. Tried to show Mum and Dad McLellan your blog site - no broadband and 20 mins later some writing came up but no pictures - I gave up! Never mind - technology will come soon!
Keep working on the wind over there - otherwise you might never get home! Love to you all and keep up your great anecdotes

Team NZ should have known better to put Helen on the boat for goodness sake. Women are bad luck apparently. No racing and when we did, we lost. Could you talk to the team, Janine, or at least have a word in Mandy's ear. I'm sure she'll pass it on.
Off to bed now.
Take care
Sarah

Transport

Transport
This is the best way to visit daddy - 45 min bike ride down the promonade. You have to look out for trees and spanish ladies (Hunter found out!!)

Gullivers Travels

Gullivers Travels
In the old river Turia (river redirected long ago after continuous flooding) there are lots of playgrounds and bike tracks. The kids are playing on a huge giant Gulliver. There are lots of slides and stairs and ropes to climb. If you look hard you can see Gullivers head behind - the kids are standing on his arm.

The Spider Web

The Spider Web
A huge rope spider web on the beach is very cool to climb up (Mum only spent a very SHORT time at the top!!!)

The playground

It's not so bad having your cousins to play with every day!

Glad we were there at 1pm and not 12 noon. The bell chimes on the hour.
